Welcome to the St James' Association (SJA)

The SJA is the PTA for St James' CEC Primary School. We are a registered charity dedicated to raising funds to ensure that every child at St James’ has the best possible experience and learning opportunities at our wonderful school.

We exist to bridge the gap between the school’s tight budget and the resources needed for enriching activities, equipment, and experiences.​

About Us 

The SJA is run entirely by parent volunteers and caregivers. We are governed by a core committee and meet regularly to plan activities and decide on funding requests from the school. 

Support Us - Summer Fayre 2026

​We are a small team of volunteers, with a big fundraising target this year. You can help by volunteering time or donating money to the SJA. Fill in the Volunteer Form to let us know how you can help this year - from setting up the night before, or in the morning, to helping on a stall, any hour you can offer really helps to make the event a success. We can't do it without your help!
Can you Donate a Prize?

We are so grateful for the generous support we receive from our local community. If you own a local business and wish to donate raffle prizes for our Summer Fayre on Saturday 13th June, we'd love to hear from you. We'd also welcome donations of cakes and sweets, or items or vouchers that we can offer as prizes for our 'Lucky Envelope' stall. Your support helps to raise vital funds for our school. Please email [email protected] or speak to your Class Rep if you have any connections, ideas or can offer support for this event.

We have been working with teachers and staff to create a list of resources that they would love to buy this year to enhance learning and creativity and bring science topics to life. Whatever you are able to donate, it will make a huge difference for all the children and staff. Thank you.

Volunteers Meeting

Tuesday 2nd June
7.30pm ONLINE 
Please join us for a quick planning meeting online on Tuesday 2nd June at 7.30pm. If you have volunteered to help, this is a chance to come and find out some more details about how things will work on the day, and ask any questions you might have. 

The Summer Fayre is the highlight of our school fundraising calendar, but we need a team of volunteers to make it happen! 

If you haven't yet, please sign up for a volunteer slot in the form below. Your help ensures we raise funds to support the school, and can give the children a great day!

Donation Dates

We are looking for donations for the Summer Fayre. Please donate your good quality toys, games and cuddlies, along with bottles for the tombola on Thursday 21st May.

Pleaes bring Chocolates and Sweets - used for carnival game prizes, and the tombola on Thursday 4th June. 

Please bring potted plants - vegetables, bedding plants, house plants, perennials etc to school on Friday 12th June for the plant stall. Please label them so we know what they are! 

Non Uniform Day

Thursday 21st May
Come to school in non-uniform in exchange for a donation to the Summer Fayre. Bring in your preloved toys and games or new & unopened bottles (toiletries, pantry, wine etc all welcome) for the tombola.

The following week (Thursday 4th June) we'll be collecting chocolate and sweet donations.

Summer Fayre

Saturday 13th June
11am - 2pm

Save the date for our Summer Fayre this year! We'll be looking for your support with donations and volunteers. £1 entry, kids free. All welcome. 

Sports Day

Friday 26th June
Morning
The SJA support school Sports Day by arranging a local coffee van to come to school and offer hot and cold drinks. A proportion of sales are donated to the SJA, so please do treat yourself to a coffee or iced drink, it all helps the school!

We also supply ice creams to every child after the activities are finished. If you'd like to donate to the SJA to help support the costs of providing the ice creams, please make a donation online. Thank you!
